3 ways to keep your beer warm during fermentation

Keeping your beer warm during fermentation can be difficult in cold weather countries, particularly the colder months of the year. Here are 3 easy ways to help keep your beer at a warmer temperature, for a more consistent brew. 1. Blankets An easy and low tech solution is to use blankets around your fermentation bucket. This solution relies on the natural heat generated during fermentation and keeping that heat insulated once your brew has reached optimal temperatures.    2. Heated Belt Heat belts are designed to wrap around your fermentation bucket, to keep your brew at the desired temperature for consistent fermentation. Adjust the position of the heat belt on the bucket to control the temperature, he lower the belt the higher the temperature.   3. Heat Pad Heat pads are similar to heat belts, but are designed to sit under your fermentation bucket and provide a low constant heat to help keep your brew warm. Perfect for use with a 25-30 litre fermentation bucket or barrel but can also be used for demijohns of a similar size or smaller.  When homebrewing good temperature control is a vital step toward brewing world-class beer at home. When you can reliably maintain the brew within its ideal temperature range, your homebrew will take a giant step in quality and consistency. Brew on!
